Cup Success for u9s

Our Robin Hood u9s Reds took on a strong Horsforth team in the league cup final.

Players walked out of the changing room to the champions league music with brothers/sisters as mascots, great atmosphere for the boys.

Hood started the strongest and on the Stroke of 12 minuets Isaac Schofield put Hood 1-0 up. Overall there was great football being played by both teams but it was Robin Hood who were looking the most dangerous.

With King-Reed as the holding midfielder and strong in every tackle, this aloud Tommy, Isaac and Kai to attack with force. Somehow Robin Hood couldn’t get the ball over the line and with some great goalkeeping it was 1-0 at half time.

Second half started and a rare corner to Horsforth bobbled around and found it’s way into the Hood goal. 1-1 but it was still Hood that was pressing for a win.

On 32 mins a one off attack from Horsforth found the striker through on goal and with a great finish put them 2-1 up.

Credit to the Robin Hood players they pulled themselves together and dominated the play, Towey picks up the ball, weaves his way past two players onto his weaker left foot and bends it into top corner ! 2-2 and with 12 mins to pla, it’s all Hood, wave after wave of attacks and eventually Towey crosses the ball and Kai with a half volley into the roof of the net.

Hood went on to see the game out as deserving winners.

When asked coach Smith for a comment at the end of the game he said
“These boys are special”
